MINI JCW x DEUS EX MACHINA. Two Icons. One Spirit. Zero Rules.

This is what happens when racing attitude meets creative rebellion. The MINI JCW x Deus ex Machina collaboration celebrates MINI’s motorsport roots and a shared love of daring, disruptive design.

With deep respect for craftsmanship, customization, and racing culture, the partnership comes to life through two one-off cars – each driven by creative innovation and built for those who demand total control at the limit.

Witness the North American debut of the MINI JCW x Deus ex Machina at the Canadian International AutoShow, February 13-22.

SINGULAR FORCE. OPPOSITE ENERGY.

Built as a pair, yet distinct by design. The Machina: Loud, low, and combustion-fed. Inspired by the aesthetics of motorsport, it stands for pure racing enthusiasm and authentic functionality. The Skeg: Sleek, electric, and coast-bound, shaped by materials and technologies drawn from the world of surfing.

THE MACHINA. All power. No apologies. 'The Machina’ is a track-ready statement piece that blurs the line between motorsport and street art.

Drenched in a striking red, white, and black livery with signature Deus details, The Machina makes its intentions clear before the engine even turns on. Every exterior element is purpose-built, from the bespoke grille and perforated headlight surrounds that optimize cooling, to widened fenders and quad headlights that pay homage to MINI’s rally roots.

Inside, everything is stripped back to the essentials. The cockpit is built for pure focus, anchored by 5-point racing harnesses, raw aluminum floor plates, and an exposed roll cage that balances structure with spectacle. Every surface speaks to weight-saving, purpose, and craft, from the waxed fabric dash to the pared-back door panels marked with bold ‘X’ motifs.

THE SKEG. Instant oomph. Silent rebellion. Shaped by surf culture and electric performance, ‘The Skeg’ delivers power with flow. Immediate acceleration meets clean, minimal design, creating a machine that feels effortless, intentional, and unapologetically different.

Finished in yellow and silver, The Skeg is designed to make a splash. Wide fenders and lightweight fiberglass panels cut weight and sharpen aerodynamics. At the rear, the Flex Tip Surf Spoiler responds to airflow like a board riding a wave, turning motion into lift and form into function.

Stripped-back analogue controls, neoprene racing seats, fiberglass storage trays, and a surfboard-inspired dash create a cockpit rooted in craft and the pursuit of the perfect ride.

A FEW WORDS FROM THE HEAD OF DESIGN. “In this extraordinary collaboration, we showcase two vehicles that remind us of motorsport history and successes of MINI. Every single detail has been crafted with artisanal precision and expertise. This has resulted in unique characters that are clearly perceived as belonging together through their distinctive design language and use of graphics,” says Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design.
